Funding through Pacific public agencies
USDA announced approximately $2.3 million in Micro-Grants for Food Security Program funding on 25 September 2026. The awards go to public agencies in Hawaii, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam and American Samoa.
Those agencies will make subawards to projects supporting communities with significant food insecurity that import significant quantities of food.
Support for small-scale production
The programme aims to increase the quantity and quality of locally grown food through small-scale gardening, herding and livestock operations. It is funded through the 2018 Farm Bill.
USDA directs people interested in a subaward to contact their state or territory agriculture department.
