## Awards across six states

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced on 24 September 2026 that more than $5 million in grants had been awarded to 12 projects across six states to support the domestic maple syrup industry. USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service administers the funding through the Acer Access and Development Program.

## Education and market development

The awards cover two project types. Producer and Landowner Education projects aim to improve knowledge of research, educational resources and practices for the sustainable use of natural resources. They also support opportunities to start or expand maple-sugaring activities.

Market Development and Promotion projects aim to increase consumer knowledge and awareness and expand markets for domestic maple syrup and maple-sap products through promotion, education and related activities.
